On October 3, 2025, more than 30 Upper Canada College students took part in the inaugural Covenant House x Bags to Beds Sleep-Out, an event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for youth experiencing homelessness.
In partnership with Covenant House, Canada’s largest charity supporting youth facing homelessness, participants spent the night sleeping outdoors to gain first-hand perspective on some of the daily challenges faced by homeless youth. Students also tested Bags to Beds sleeping mats.
In just two short weeks, the event raised over $11,000 to support Covenant House’s critical programs and services. Participants were recognized with certificates for their fundraising efforts and commitment to the cause.
A huge thank you goes out to all students, organizers, and supporters who made this meaningful night possible. We hope this Sleep-Out marks the beginning of a lasting UCC tradition that continues to raise both funds and awareness for youth homelessness in the years to come.
